I am trying to book an award ticket for my girlfriend using her Flightfund miles. She has about 20,000 now. My questions are:
1. For those of you who travel AWA alot, which award according to you is the best use of your Flight Fund miles? I am a NW Worldperks members and would not use my WP miles for a domestic award but I think it's different for AWA as they are mainly domestic and my girlfriend doesn't travel more than 3-4 times a year on AWA so it would take a while for her to get the miles needed for an award on a partner. Plus she has a WP account as well and has about 50,000 miles from all those WP promotions (Fly Free Faster, Credit Card, etc.).
2. Are you allowed a stop over in a domestic award?
3. If yes to #2, can we choose our routing? (As long as it's a valid paid routing). Example - She will fly out of Columbus, OH(cmh) to visit me in NY. If I price this itenary, you have the option to go to cmh - las (vegas) - NY. And the return can just be nyc - cmh. So I am thinking if a stopover is possible, have her take the cmh - las - nyc route, get a stopover in las (vegas trip) - I'll fly down there from new york. And then we can fly back to NY together where she can spend a couple of days and then go back to cmh. (The stopover would be las ofcourse). IS this possible?? Sorry for the long story but the AWA website didn't explain this in detail and since I don't have a FlightFund account, I didn't call AWA directly. Thanks!
