Sorry for the obvious questions, I am a new gold member (comp) on AWA. Two quick questions: Can I earn bonus miles (gold 100%) on BA, and how difficult to get upgrades as a gold member as compared with platinum?

Yes, you'll receive bonues miles, but you have to make sure you're flying on the right fare.

I assume you're talking about upgrades on HP metal. Your chances depend on the routes you take. However, I'd say your upgrade options are pretty good.

I believe you do NOT receive bonus miles. You receive STATUS miles if the fare is correct - that is not the same as the 100% or 125% bonus miles. My 2 flights on BA on qualifying fares did not result in PLT bonus miles ( wish they did http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )
