America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - I cant believe HP is being so quiet about FF 2003!

There's only twenty days left in this month and I have heard nothing from HP regarding changes, and/or offers. All the other airlines have announced at least something with regard to their programs.

One thing Im worried about is whether HP will implement DL's "Pay-more-for-elite" scheme.

BA - Dirt/Soon to be Gold
NW - Dirt/Soon to be Plat
UA - Dirt/19k miles
AA - Dirt/Only using to get BA Tier points/miles.

The odds of AWA "getting tough" with passengers is slim to none. Maybe the worst you'll see is a minor rule change here or there, but AWA is in the business of giving customers a reasonable service at a reasonable price. With its lower costs, it can do that while the other carriers can't.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see AWA cut back on blackout dates on reward travel, perhaps even eliminate them as most airlines have. I wouldn't expect it, either. Maybe 50-50 on that one.

All I hope for in '03 is that the 3,000 mile bonus for on-line reservations is extended. That is truly an awesome deal!

I agree 100%. The vast majority of my miles is due to that offer. If they extend it to next year I will be well over 1 million FF miles by the end of next year.

But they have to make mileage and/or fare offers since most of the current ones expire on 12/31 unless they plan on offering nothing.
