Check fares from Indianapolis. It's a 2 hour drive to Indy and AW flys direct from Ind to Phoenix.

They do have sports-savvy folks in their pricing department, I think. Or maybe the fans just snapped up all the M, V and Q fares.
I've found the best way to avoid this problem is make a 24-hour hold reservation before the game, then buy it immediately afterward. The price will be locked in.
