Hi all,
Can a few of you comment on the recent lines at T1 at LAX?
Lately, I've been flying out of BUR because of its proximity and short lines. The last time I was at LAX (couple times in September), the lines were still most of the way to T2...around an hour in the security line.
What have your experiences at T1 been lately?
Thanks,
Tim in Hollywood
I've flown out of Terminal 1 five times in the last month and the lines through security have taken less than 5 minutes. It's a little longer than Burbank but they have twice as many X-Ray machines.

Hi Jaguar,
What has been done to reduce the lines so dramatically? This sounds amazing, given my past experiences.
Thanks,

I've never had more than a 1-2 minute delay at the LAX checkpoints.
What time of day do you travel?

Hi,
I don't have a typical time that I travel from T1 at LAX. Over the past year, the times have been probably:
60% 8:00am to noon
20% noon to 5:00pm
20% 5:00pm to midnight
Never have the lines been less than 30 minutes. A couple times, the line was actually all the way to T2, which is quite a distance.
Have you ever seen the same T1 lines I have? Your experiences seem so dramatically different than mine. :-)
Thanks,
Tim in Hollywood

The holdup at LAX T1 is due to Southwest personnel only using 1 person to check your ticket and ID before going up the stairs to the checkpoint. It would make too much sense to add a second person.
