Las Vegas - Renoir - very disappointed

I don't know if I'm having a bad night there....but every dish at Renoir was way too salty. My roast quail was so salty that can't eat most of it without downing a whole glass of water. And the menu was not that creative either. The bill was $360 for two and I'm truly disappointed.
I should have tried Auerole or Picasso instead. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/frown.gif
The Verandah Cafe in Four Seasons is much much better, and about 1/3 cheaper. Much more relaxed, and better quality food.

Perhaps Picasso, but personally the only real attraction at Aureole is the 4 story glass wine cellar. Dine there twice and the last time was particularly disappointing.
As one who visits Vegas three to four times a year I get the feeling that some places are starting to hurt with sky-high prices for less than stellar meals.
I find I am dining more at Off-The-Strip places like Rosemary's or Wild Sage, better food, wine in particular, half the price and generally a more enjoyable experience.

I'm curious: did you speak to anyone about this (ie the manager)?

For a romantic meal, nothing approaches Picasso.
For fabulous food, try Craftsteak or Bradley Ogden next time.

No, we didn't speak to the manager, but we mentioned that to our waiter. The waiters and everyone else were trying so hard, I don't want to complain even more (at least that's what I was thinking then).
It just sad. Such a wonder surrounding, with such bad food. I'll just try another place next time.
Though the place cannot be good for the priceless paintings. They have candles burning right beneath one of the frame on one table. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/frown.gif

I was in LV in the last couple of weeks and had a phenomenal dining experience at NOB HILL inside the MGM Grand.

Nob Hill is quite good. It's Michael Mina's (Aqua) new place. Hunnybear and I enjoy going there. Some people have said it's too stuffy. And of course it's overpriced, but that's par for the course in Vegas.
