Information on the Concierge Palazzo suite, size, amenitites, etc

If you bypass the normal checkin in the front entrance, there is a seperate checkin for the Venezia. It also says if you stay in the concierge level there is a seperate check in there as well. I wonder how this will work.

Is the lounge food and beverage free?? ha ha

I just wonder what I should expect from the conceirge level versus the normal Venezia rooms..

Thanks..

Has it opened yet? They were still busy building the thing when I stayed last month

I don't think it has opened officially yet. Everything I have seen said "June", but no specific date.

BTW, I found a press release on the Tower with a lot of detail:

Read that release already. It does say more than what they have up there.
They have a spot for Venzia floorplans, but that has had coming soon for sometime. I hope it opens soon. I will be in LAS the 2nd week of July...

I checked with the Venetian. The Veniza should be open around the end of the month. They are working on getting the floor plans on the web site ASAP.

Anyone have a report on the Venezia Tower at the Venetian? Was going to stay at Bellagio but the summer direct mail special was sold out one of the nights I needed (Aug 2-4) and decided to try someplace different. Venetian website has the basic Venezia suite @ $229/nt for those dates. Any input would be appreciated (also considering THEhotel and FS). Thanks!

I just stayed there this past Sun-Wed. I enjoyed my stay there.

It was a last minute booking, and I booked through Priceline. I was also considering THEHotel, but the Venetian through Priceline was much cheaper. When we checked-in, the only rooms available were in the Venezia tower, so they put us there.

We also dined at Bouchon. It was good, but it didn't wow me. I guess my expectations were too high.

Thanks for the reply, Katana Pilot. Turns out I was able to book the Bellagio for the dates I wanted @ the $139 rate but I think it was a website glitch that allowed me to do so because a call to the hotel confirms nothing available on those days for that rate. It'll be interesting to see they handle it when people start showing up wanting the lakeview room upgrade (D139DM) and having nothing available.

Thanks again,

JC

Stayed there last labor day.

Plan on doing lots of walking - and allow a good 20 minutes to your room and back from the casino or main pool.

Ended up staying in the Venezia Towers 8/1-3. Got an email for a $129/nt summer special at Venetian and $50 more to stay in the Venezia.

Arrived just after noon on Sunday and valet was "full". Told valet that I was checking in for a 2-night stay and he informed me that check-in wasn't until 3pm. Ended up self-parking, having lunch and walking around a bit. Checked in a little before 3. Waited about 10 minutes at the "private" Venezia check-in as there was only one person checking guests in. When it was my turn, I was asked three times over the course of checking in if I would like to upgrade to a suite on the concierge floor. Made me wonder if there was an incentive program for the front desk clerks to get paying upgrades when occupancy permits. I declined an upgrade with no mention of how much it would have cost to upgrade.

Received a suite on the 7th floor that had a view of the back of Harrah's and their parking garage. Suite size/layout was what I expected after viewing pictures/floorplans on their website. Also noted that the carpet in the living area was pretty well worn and dirty for a place that has been open just over a year. Never got out to the private pool/garden as it was closed both afternoons due to lightning/thunderstorms in the area.

All in all, the Venezia offered nothing special that justified the extra $50 a night. Same wait at check-in (10 minutes isn't too bad for Vegas), same kids running up and down the halls during the day and loud conversations/slamming doors at night. As todd-r posted, it takes some walking to get to your room --- self-park and take the garage elevator down to 3. Catch Venezia elevator back up to Venezia lobby. Walk thru lobby and down hall and catch elevator back up to room. Another turn-off were the endless pitches for "free show tickets" and "how long you in town" questions from Venetian staff when walking thru the Grand Canal shopping area. Especially bad in the AM when the crowd was thin.

To sum up, I plan to try another hotel (THEhotel, FS) next trip to Vegas. Would stay at the Venetian if the price was right but forego the extra $$$ for the Venezia.
