Las Vegas - Monte Carlo

I'm off to a bachelor party next month and will be staying at the Monte Carlo. Is it any good?

Hi,

It is an ok Strip hotel ( not as good as M Bay or Mirage but better that NYNY, Excalibur,Tropicana)

Buffetts quite reasonably priced and good value for money ( not the best though).

Rooms are ok.

Pool area is quite good with a wave pool( fairly small and cool), lazy river and an ordinary pool. As it is on the west side of the building a lot of the pool area will be in the shade until later in the morning.

It has a Street of Dreams ( small shopping arcade), Lance Burton theatre ( magician).

It does have a good food court ( McD's, Nathans, etc).

It used to have a tram running to the Bellagio in 2 mins but I thin it has stopped due to the construction of the new Bellagio tower. It is just across the street from the MGM and NYNY.

Head next door to NYNY. Lively casino - very conducive to a bachelor party.

For the hip scene, hit the Palms and HRock. Lots of twenty/thirtysomethings more interested in partying than gambling on Fri/Sat nights. Like a bar w/ a casino - compared to most that are casinos w/ bars.

not really, very vanilla for LV.

If I'm planning, I'm not staying at the Monte Carlo, no flavor.

Monte Carlo is O.K. & nothing more. The pool is OK, the sports bar is OK, and the location in OK. NYNY is definately better for that part of the strip, as is Mandalay Bay.

If I was offered a free night at any hotel in Vegas, and I wasn't considering the price, here's where I'd stay:

1) Bellagio
2) 4 Seasons
3) Venetian
4) Rio
5) NYNY
6) Mandalay Bay
7) Caesar's
8) Mirage
9) Luxor
10) Palm

Your top 3 are a little too sophisticated for a bunch of guys on a bachelor party, no?

#4, 5, and 6 seem more appropriate for a partying atmosphere IMO.

I didn't pick the hotel. And I only fly ghetto class. Everywhere else is top notch.

Man it's a small world.

Looking for details on Vegas for a birthday treat trip for the other half on 18th June and find someone from Falkirk (8 miles away) who can advise.

I've booked NYNY, I take it it aint all that bad?

NYNY is alot of fun. It has a kick *** roller coaster... It is in the middle of all the great strip hotels.
