Ok, I know it's going to be really hot, but does anyone have experience golfing in Vegas in July?

I'm doing some research for a bachelor party over the weekend of July 19th, and several of the guys want to play golf. I've looked through previous threads here on the subject, and found a few places (i.e. Angel Park Mtn., Las Vegas National CC) where we can get on for around $65-$100 per person in greens fees. However, this means getting up for a 6:00 - 7:00am tee time, and renting a car or cabbing it over from the strip, and dealing with the heat as it comes on in the later holes.

I guess I'm looking for any personal experiences from people who have done this, to see if we'd consider it worthwhile....

Thanks!

Here's the main suggestion. Play golf your first day if at all possible.

After boozing (come on, you'll be in Vegas!)all night, the sun will KILL you by the turn - considering your body will already be dehydrated even before you hit the 1st tee.

On a recent 3 night trip, and after the 1st night about 1/2 the guys were still sh*tfaced from the night before when we teed off at 8am. Needless to say, once the sun hit them they were done by the turn. It was ugly.

Enjoy. Have fun. Be sure to take the bachelor to Cheetahs.

I have played golf in Vegas during the summer months and it is not that bad. If you can get tee times before 9 AM, try Rhodes Ranch which is ten minutes from the strip, you should be done with 18 by 1:30 and sipping cold ones by the pool. Believe me, it is not that bad to play golf in Vegas during July. The prices are very reasonable and the courses are great. Pl;us, there is always a beverage cart to help you. Go do it and enjoy yourselves.

Thanks much, MrPaul0722! This was exactly the kind of information I was looking for!

If you have Hilton Honors Gold VIP status, and stay at the LV Hilton, you should be able to get the VIP desk to set up tee times for you across the street at the LV Country Club...the hotel has a membership. Last time I did this, the hotel just charged the $80 guest fee to my room bill and the course charged a separate cart fee...

Drink lots of water & use lots of sunscreen. Wear a big hat, regardless of how ridiculous it looks. As suggested, start as early in the day as possible--people here get out at 7:00 AM & earlier. Vegas is a bit north & about 1,000 feet higher than PHX, so the heat is not quite as intense, but it still can be brutal.
