Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino Anyone?

From the April 24th Las Vegas Sun:

A partnership that includes the co-founder of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain has reached an agreement with the owners of the bankrupt Aladdin hotel-casino to buy the 2,587-room resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

Hmm ... I'm interested in the fact that Starwood is also involved. Didn't they buy the old Maxim Hotel, and are turning it into a Westin?

This is interesting, especially the Starwood angle.

It's a shame that it's going to be a Planet Hollywood brand though; no chance that I'm ever going there.

I guess I'll point out that this will be the FIRST Starwood property in Las Vegas. Hopefully, the start of a trend if you have lots of Starwood points to use.

Correction :
The Westin, due to open this summer, will be the first Starwood property in LV.

Caesars currently awards Starpoints for stays.
