Excluding special charges and the recognition of additional federal grant proceeds received, the third-quarter loss was $36.1 million or $1.07 a share compared with $64.2 million or C$1.91 a year earlier.
The company said it believes it is "well-positioned to be among the first airlines to return to profitability. Unfortunately, the severity of the industry's current crisis and limited indications of near-term improvement make it very difficult to project when the crossover to sustained profitability will occur."
