Ok, here's the situation. At the end of June I will be meeting 16 (yes, 16) friends in Vegas.
I have to choose between the 2Bedroom suite at the Aladdin, or the 2Bdr. suite at the Venetian.
Price is essentially the same. Square footage is 1400 at Venetian, 1750 at Aladdin, but Venetian has more sleeping arrangements.
Which would you choose? What floors, or views should I request at these hotels? Any info. you have would be greatly appreciated!

Venetian is a far nicer hotel and I would choose it unless there were other factors compelling you to pick Aladdin.
Pros of Aladdin:
Bellagio fountain view
Central Strip location
If you stay at Venetian the view I prefer is the pool, which also gives you the Treasure Island pirate battle.

I never doubted you! I just had visions of trying to check in with 17 people....or maybe checking in for one person then asking for 16 extra towels. Are there going to be pictures posted of this "event" somewhere??????

Well certainly we won't all be checking in together!
As far as the pictures, there may be some on display in the Las Vegas post office http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif

Venetian for sure. Although I don't know how you're going to swing it with 16 people though. Looks like we might have another "Ryan" story in the making.

Venetian, hands down. Each Venetian room has a minimum of one bed, plus one pull out sofa. With a two bedroom suite, you should have at least 2 king beds plus two (maybe more) sofas. My experience has been that most two bedroom suites have one set up with a king, the other bedroom would have two doubles. The Venetian is a much nicer hotel, though the Aladdin will have a slightly better location. I don't know where the two bedroom suites in the Venetian would be located, but the two bedroom suite at the Aladdin that you mention is most likely thier "endcap" suite which would be at the end of one of the taller wings. Views would be awesome. Venetian's pool is better, and the "V" has more dining options. Aladdin is closer to other options. If you gamble, rooms comps are easier at Aladdin, food comps easier at Venetian. Aladdin has a top three buffet, the Venetian has no buffet (but the Grand Lux Cafe, owned by Cheesecake Factory is excellent and in the same price range). If you like cheap gambling, the V is actually a better choice, as it is closer to Casino Royal (a real dive, but cheap slots/table games) and some of the cheaper properties on the north end of the strip. Aladdin is closer to many other properties, but most are still strip properties/rules/table limits. Both have good shopping, and the Venetian is across the street from a shopping mall, though I don't know if the mall has reopened after a fire.
Probably more info than you asked for, but both properties are fine, you would probably have fun at either one.
HOWEVER, for "high density living" I would base my decision on the number of bathrooms available. If I remember correctly, the Aladdin two bedroom suite actually has three toilets (one in each of the bedrooms, and a powder room off the entrance), whereas the Venetian only had two, but I would call to check. That would drive my decision above other factors.
Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for your responses!
Especially MIAflyer for the great detailed comparison!!
Decisions, decisions, decisions. It looks like both have 2.5 bathrooms, so that's a wash (no pun intended http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif). The Aladdin suite is larger, but Venetian has more sleeping options. The Aladdin gets points for being more centrally located and having better views, but I think the nicer pool, might be the tie-breaker.
Well, I have until the end of the week to decide so please feel free to comment further!
Thanks again http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif !!

Ok, here are some more tie breakers for you....(as you can see, we are now getting to the point of really splitting hairs)...
The Aladdin suite will (because it is at the end of the wing) have a wonderful view of the Bellagio fountains. Most folks will say that is a ladies thing, but I love watching them too. Just think of the engineering and computer power required to shoot a blast of water 200 feet in the air, on cue, in sync with 100 other jets, just amazing. If you don't plan on spending much time in the room with your 15 closest friends watching the fountains, that may not be important.
The Venetian suite could easily be anywhere in the hotel. You could end up with a view of the parking deck, or the new tower they are building. You could also get a great view of the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island right across the strip.
If there is anyone in your party that you are trying to impress (future girlfriend, whatever) the Venetian has much more "wow" factor. The Venetian claims to have the largest standard rooms in the world (according to the Guiness Book of World Records) but other hotels may soon challege that. The Venetian's regular room rates are often much higher than the Aladdin's. If they are both priced the same (or within 10-15%) the Venetian is probably the better value. If you are sharing this cost with your 15 closest friends, it may not matter much.
A parting shot...I know the pool access at the Aladdin is simply through a door on the 6th floor, no "key checks", so getting a large crowd into the pool wouldn't be hard. When I stayed at the Venetian, I never went to the pool (too drunk, tired, etc.) but I could see the pools from my room, and I would not be surprised if they did a key check, particularly on the weekends. Would the Venetian give you 16 keys? Probably not, but getting more than the normal allotment, especially with a suite, shouldn't be too tough. Do you think everyone in your group would want to go to the pool at the same time?
Have fun!

g_layser you say you got the same rate for both hotels. What rate did you get? I just picked up the Venetian for $75 per night for 5 nights mid may over on priceline.

At those prices, I sincerely hope g_leyser gets a second suite! (Unless he is trying to win some sort of contest or something.)

Wow! That's a VERY good rate for Venetian.
We are actually staying in a 2BDR suite, so the rate is ~$700/night. Not exactly a bargain http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif

I think the key here is that he wants to get a 2bdrm suite, and that probably isn't the standard room that is released to Priceline.

I agree. Hell he could book 2,3,4,5 rooms. Though it might be hard to make the group video http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif
