Thanks for the Pic! IMHO ... the second tower really detracts from the overall beauty of the place. It just looks crowded now.

I'll have a look for myself in two weeks!

UGLY!!

Real good thinking building this big box in front of the only wings with a decent view of the strip. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/rolleyes.gif

Glad you guys are not in photo recon for the military.
The new building is at side of the existing tower you are ( or should be familar with) and should appear when viewed from LV Blvd as a sort of mirror image of the existing one.
From the inception the Venetian was planned to become the largest hotel in terms of room numbers in the world.

HUH? 1/3 of the existing rooms lose their view. Explain the logic of that.

Interesting pictures, no. There really isn't much to see at this stage.

Most of those rooms that are now blocked by the new building had a interesting view of Harrah's.

The way the new building is situated, most of the rooms on the west side will have a very nice view of the of the strip.

Yeah, it does look crowded now. And plus they've blocked the view of basically everyone who had a southern facing view. That's pretty crappy; that's the kind of thing you get in NYC where you're looking at the side of another building. Yuck.

As a matter of fact, I just stayed in one of those BEAUtiful view rooms last month. The construction guys start at @8am - the walls are thick, so it's never more than minor background noise.

The new tower is really close to the existing buildings - absolutely no view. It felt like I could even see into one of the new rooms if their lights are on...not that I would http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

Also, our room was really worn - they need to refurbish these rooms. We did get a discounted rate of $159 (considering it was Valentines weekend), but I think next time I'll stay at Paris.

Sometimes the view into another hotel room could be more interesting that a view of the Strip. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

When does construction finish at the Venetian?
I am going to be staying (with a bunch of friends) in a 2BDR Piazza Suite at the end of June.
What side or room numbers should I request to get the best view and avoid construction noise?
Thanks! http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif
