I am currently using a Netgear EN104 hub, that I have to carry from time to time when I go to client's sites. I don't mind the size of the unit, the problem is the size of the power supply, it is huge http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/eek.gif, so much for portability.

What is a good switch/hub out there with a "slim" power supply?

Thanks http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

Speaking of which... pardon my ignorance but what exactly is the difference between a hub and a switch?

HUB is a dumb network device, in which all the packets are broadcasted everywhere, a switch in comparison sends the information only to the place that it needs to go.

How about this other one, looks more cool, but it might drain your battery
