Here's a deal for my fellow thrifty FTers:

The Sennheiser PX-200 headphones, which I assume are the very close cousin of their noise-cancellation equipped cousin, the PX-250, are now on sale at eCost.com for $24.99.

Although nice, I'm not in the market for a noise-cancelling headset (The QC2's are more than my monthly rent). These 'phones, while not noise-cancelling, do have a nice closed earpiece, eliminating at least some noise, and they fold up for easy storage.

I'm thinking about them as an upgrade from my cheap Sony earbuds.

Any thoughts / experiences from our techie crowd?

The sale, by the way, ends in about 59 hours from now, or until the stock of 35 units is depleted.

Also, the noise-cancelling -250's are on sale for $64:

I'm not much of a headphone connoisseur, but a coworker brought these in a while back with his iPod, and they sounded really quite good to me (high-quality MP3s on the iPod). They were also comfortable, though I didn't wear them for very long. They fold up into a hard plastic case about the size of one you'd use for sunglasses. A great deal at 25 bucks (about half the usual price). I might have to pick up a set of these now! (I knew about the deal on the PXC-250s at eCost, but right now I'm not sure I'd use them enough to spend even the 64 bucks on those.) This Sennheiser line of the PX-100 and PX-200 seems pretty highly regarded for low-cost headphones.

Note that apparently on the PXC-250s the stock was dwindling, but then they got some more and added more time to the sale. So that end time and that quantity may not be written in stone. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

I have a pair of 250's. Was the first kid on the block to get a pair. I don't think they are worth $25 as n/c headphones. Noise leaks in all around the ear "seals".

N/C design could compenstate for this, but does not on the 250's The provided UA foam phones with built in comp are better.
