Does anyone else find that this otherwise fantastic phone has the words worst integrated antenna??

Agree. That and the paltry 2MB of unexpandable memory. I mentioned this in the other T610 thread.

I have it now, and I'm finding it to be on par with other SE phones with respect to the antenna. But I love it, spite it having crap for memory. It'll make a good backup phone when something else comes out that's better. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

These are known for having pretty poor RF performance. The just out SEz600 is supposed to be much better in that regard based on some stufff I have read from people who have both.

It's helluva better than the t68 family on the RF side...

Yep... and the first release had a horrific hiss on the receive audio. The last Ericsson product I saw with decent RF was the T39...

Have you considered the Treo 600? Not terribly much bigger but the RF is leagues better and a lot more functionality as well.

I've never been impressed with the internal antenna on my T610 (or the T68 that I had before it) but the hiss must be either a fault with the phone or the network. When in good coverage, I've had many perfect conversations using my T610.

The Treo 600 is indeed yummy but Internaut continues to wait with utmost patience for Nokia's next Communicator product.

It was a phone fault. Ericsson came out with updated firmware that fixed the problem but by that time I'd moved on.

I would LOVE it if it had Bluetooth !

Anyone know when the T630's are out and what the improvements over the T610's are? Also what's up with Orange in the UK not doing the Z600? One more, will 3 (or anyone else) be offering the Z1010?

My experience is that the T610 has dreadful RF, and a screen that is practically unusable in sunlight. The Z600 is better on both counts (as well as having a much better keypad), but is a little bulky.

I have both, along with a P900, the T610 is my UK Orange phone, I use the Z600 as my voice phone in Italy and I use my P900 mainly for GPRS data.

The T630 is trickling out in Asia, haven't seen it in Europe yet.

The main differences with the T610 are:
- TFT instead of DSTN screen, better in sunlight

- an ugly but more functional keyboard with much larger keys
- reputedly improved RF due to the aforementioned plastic shell

SE phones suck because they fail in the one area that they are designed to function- as a PHONE!!! Great features,bells and whistles but if you can't make or receive calls or they continuously get dropped what is the point of all of those bells and whistles?
I ditched by T68i a year ago because of the crappy and unreliable RF and I bought a Siemens S55. Great phone and the only complaint I have with it is the ring volume is not that loud.
