Travel Technology - ATI Driver Update for XP - problems

I installed the latest ATI Video driver that Windows was offering on its update website two days ago and have been having some stability problems. Anybody else have any issues after installing this new driver? If I remember correctly, this new video driver was released in October.
Thanks.

No problems to report.

Where did you get this "new" driver? If it didn't come from IBM (assuming it's for your notebook) then go back to the last IBM released driver.
Swapping notebook graphics drivers is more risk prone than desktop systems due to all the power management and LVDS panel stuff that is specific to each system.

Use "system restore" to go back in time before the nasty updated driver and see if the earlier one behaves nicer. Oops, I am not certain "system restore" will un-do bios changes. Any opinions if it does?

System Restore won't undo bios changes, but windows update won't do bios changes, so there doesn't seem to be a problem here.
If the video drivers create problems on your system, go back to the old ones! If system restore can't help for whatever reason, you can revert to the previously installed drivers from Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Display adapter.

I noticed yet another ATI driver update is available now. Maybe this one will fix your problems.
