I found this on the Internet (http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/0,1518,266532,00.html).
ScottC, others, any comments?

the website visited,
the internet service provider (ISP),
and any eavesdropper on the internet connection
can determine which websites the user of a specific computer visits. Even the information which the user calls up can be intercepted and seen if encryption is not used.

Prett lame, really.
It slows down broadband connections.
If I really wanted or needed anonymity, I'd just hack into ScottC's network and browse away from there...

It's actually pretty clever, it's like the common proxy server already offered by many firms (like myself http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif) but it also adds encryption. One of the major problems of using an open proxy server is that the owner of the proxy can listen in on ALL traffic passing through, JAP seems to eliminate that problem http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif I'll test it out http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif

I actually installed JAP (but only) for 2 minutes ... after I could not access DHL's global tracking (got this 400..), I removed it. I think that I don't need it anyway.
Somewhat off-topic: I have now Cloudmark's Spamnet installed .. I believe ScottC, somebody else, mentioned/recommended it. Thanks, it stopped 3,400 spam messages in a couple of weeks. It's now only $1.99/month.
BTW, JAP is from Uni Dresden, ex DDR. They really picked up ... I remember selling them a second hand Bull Gamma-10 years and years ago, and it was outdated even at that time... but not on the "black list".
