America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Use Flight Fund to get Upgrade and Credit to Onepass?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has used Flight Fund elite status to get the upgrade and actually have the miles credited to Onepass.

Is this possible? I imagine you have to switch the frequent flyer number at the gate after you get your boarding pass. Would the agents do this for you?

Thanks,

Steven

I usually do the OPPOSITE. I credit the flight to HP because they have bonuses and flash my CO Gold card to get the upgrade. Only once has the agent forced me to input my CO number. I suppose I could have changed it back to my HP number at the gate but I couldn't be bothered.

I booked a Continental flight with a HP codeshare. I called the FlightFund Elite line and asked if I could upgrade on the HP flight but still receive the mileage credit on my OnePass account. No problem. The agent said she needed to change the FF number to process the upgrade, and then to switch back to the OnePass number. She suggested that I verify that the correct FF number is in the record at check-in. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

A slightly different question..

My friend is Gold on American West, no status on CO. Booked a flight on CO. If credited to HP Account, does he get double miles for Gold ?

I assume using CO number, with no status, would yield regular miles, as normal.

I was informed this morning that they're "keeping an eye on this situation", and are not pleased with it. It was mentioned that they are considering revoking the comps from those who do this continually. This is not what I was told when I signed up for the Elite Match... like OldGold I was given the green light for this course of action...

How much money does CO get when we credit HP flights to the OP program? without knowing, I kind of assume that's what this might be about. But then again, I'm still forking over some serious $$$ HP's way, they must be getting the lion's share of it and I'd find it hard to believe that they'd want to put an end to that.

Anyone else heard this recently?

You would get the 100% Gold Bonus by putting the flight on the HP account and no bonus by putting it on the CO account

I prefer to earn FlightFund miles. I believe FlightFund miles are more valuable than OnePass miles.

It seems a little rude to take the status comp from HP and then credit the miles to Nonepass.

Haven't heard anything about revoking elite privleges, but I had been doing this consistently until my last HP flight when I tried to change the FF number to CO. The agent absolutely refused to do it, so I went to the phone and called the FlightFund ServiceCenter and had them change it. The FlightFund agent said she didn't know why they gave me grief since choosing which program you want the miles credited to has always been part of the plan. At any rate, something has clearly changed in terms of their attitude about upgrading and then switching the FF number to CO.

With the recent changes to HP/CO relationship, anyone see any problems getting HP Miles for a CO Flight ?

Also, do you get credit for HP Miles on CO International Flights ?

Things are status quo. I have had no problems earning FlightFund miles on CO flights and OnePass miles on HP flights. I generally credit all short flights to FlightFund and long flights to OnePass, as I qualify for OnePass on miles and FlightFund on segments.

Yes, you can accrue FlightFund mileage on all Continental, Continental Express, and Continental Micronesia operated-flights systemwide plus the Continental-coded Virgin flights.

Trans,

"and FlightFund on segments."

Thats the way to go. It works to your advantage to go by segments, especially if you take a lot of short hops.

I fly from PHX-LAS-OAK 10 times a year to make nearly half of my Plat status.
