America West to Restore Flights Between Las Vegas and Four U.S. Cities

HP today announced plans to continue to restore service as customer demand returns. America West will be adding flights between its Las Vegas hub and the following four markets in February and April: New York/JFK, Boston, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Denver.

``We continue to be optimistic about the level of our bookings and passenger loads,'' said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing. ``We plan to continue to add flights based on customer demand and work toward a full resumption of service.''

The airline will be providing two additional roundtrip flights between Las Vegas and New York. Boston, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Denver will each receive one additional roundtrip flight. All of the flights are resumptions of previous service.

Just last month, America West announced that it will initiate new service between Las Vegas and Colorado Springs, Colo., on Feb. 27, and between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City on May 1. With the addition of these new flights, America West will provide 75 daily departures to 32 destinations from its Las Vegas hub.

The flight schedules for Boston, New York/JFK, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Denver are listed below.

Would still like to see some of the service restored to Las Vegas that is non-midnight flights. Years ago America West had some decent connections through Las Vegas to cities back east from the Pacific Northwest. Now basically all we get is a midnight flight and connections through Phoenix. For that we'll take another airline. It's too far south. Connections through Las Vegas are decent because you have something to do!
