America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Help for a student

Hello. I am a student attending school far 2000 miles from home. I always have to take America West, and I am usually miserable on the long flights.

I understand that Platinum Elite members can nominate a silver member. If anyone would be willing to do this for me, I would be eternally grateful. If you can't, I also understand. Thanks for your time.

If you are worried about getting a First Class America West has a first class upgrade paid program, where you can pay for an upgrade from any fare up to 4 hours prior to departure. If your flight was about 2000 miles, the cost would be $150 to upgrade.
