Looks like old HP is going to be around for awhile. I did notice some of the conditions, i.e., top execs and board receive zero pay for Q4 2001, Co. must draw up plans to keep costs and future pay low, no incentive pay at all for '01, etc. Basic "I see the light and will be as cheap as humanly possible" story that one gets when going to the lender (or loan guarantor, in this case) of last resort.

Now, I have always liked HP, and still do. But, let me say this. Their people dang sure were not overpaid to begin with. So...This deal is not going to do a whole heck of a lot for the morale of your front line worker at HP other than to take it lower than it already is.

Speaking of cashing in, I hope some of you took my advice about HP stock. If not, I bet avek's still got some TWA paper for you.
