America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Platinum upgrade

I recently earned Silver Elite and have heard that HP is being rather generous with Platinum upgrades. Anyone know the best way to approach HP for the upgrade?

Piece o' cake, Albacore, just flash your Platinum card from another airline, 'n' you'll be in the catbird seat.

Thanks snake. But, I'm new to the frequent flyer biz and HP is my only program. Any other suggestions?
