America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - America West Club Question

Does anyone know what year the America West Club (Phoenix Club) started ? Also what the membership fees were at that time for Lifetime and annual? Thanks

The Phoenix Club originally opened September, 1987 in Terminal Three at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX). The second club opened in December, 1988, also in Terminal Three.

In November, 1990 the new Barry M. Goldwater Terminal Four opened at Sky Harbor. America West moved all operations to Terminal Four. The two Phoenix Clubs moved from Terminal Three to the mezzanine level of concourse A and concourse B in Terminal Four.

In the mid-1990's, America West opened its first location outside of Phoenix. The Phoenix Club opened at Orange County's John Wayne Airport (SNA). This location didn't last long and was subsequently taken over by American Airlines AAdmiral's Club.

In August, 1998 America West took over the former Delta Crown Room Lounge in Las Vegas McCarran Airport (LAS). The Las Vegas club is located on the mezzanine level above the ticket counters, just outside security at the head of the A & B Concourses (Terminal One). With the addition of LAS, America West changed the name of the Phoenix Clubs to America West Clubs.

America West opened their third PHX club location in November, 1999 in the new A concourse at Terminal Four. In November, 2000 America West opened an America West Club at Port Columbus International Airport (CMH). The new CMH club was the former TWA Ambassador's Club.
