Does El Al have seat maps online?

Can anyone comment on BC on the TLV-LHR route? It will either be a 777 or a 747; what are the pitch, recline, service etc. like? Can one pre-assign seats? In general, for this 5 hour flight, is BC worth the fare difference?

Thanks,

Shuly

IMHO LY's C class is excellent. The seat on the 744 is very comfortable and reclines very generously (don't have exact numbers for pitch). The 777 C class seat is not as wide as the the 744's, but the seat itself is all-electronic which is a big plus.

The FA's in C are very attentive. Meal service is far ahead of Y class.

If you need to hit the ground running when you land then LY's C class on the 744 and 777 is certainly worth the added cost.

Almost forgot - no seat maps online, but . .

YES - you can reserve seats in advance.

On the 777 its rows 10-16 in a 2-3-2 config
On the 744 its rows 10-13 in a 2-3-2 config downstairs and in the upper deck its rows 72-79 in a 2-2. The upper deck is like a different world. Very quiet, business-like atmosphere.

Thanks very much! I think I'll go for it.

Does this information hold also for the TLV-LON flights? They have two daily (well, almost daily, of course) flights to LHR, one is a 777 and the other a 747. I assume they use the same configuration as that of the transatlantic flights - is that right?

On the 777 its most definetly the same. At present they only have one config for all 4 aircraft and those planes are never on the ground long enough to be re-worked.

For the 747 - it depends on whether they are using the 747-200 or he 747-400. On the old 200's I think only the upper deck is business - not sure. On the 400's what they'll sometimes do (even NY-TLV) is use the F seats as C and use the lower C seats for Y - which they then use to seat all the PL's and GL's who didn't get upgraded b/c of fewer C class seats available.
