Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - No ID check on JNB-CPT-JNB flights!

In this day of heighten security, I was SHOCKED that my ID was not checked at check-in or at the gate for a JNB-CPT flight. After I was given my boarding pass back at the gate, I mentioned this to the gate staff and they said that check-in should have checked my ID.

On the way home, JNB-CPT, THE SAME THING HAPPENED!!! NO ID CHECK!!

Has anyone else had this experience?

The most thorough security check I had in South Africa was at CPT trying to get into the BA Terraces lounge!

How does checking an ID make the plane secure... Think this through for a while.

If the screeners are screening, who cares if ID isn't checked. What does checking ID prove, someone who bought the ticket isn't flying in the plane?

No I.D. checks here in Europe and no problem with that here
