As published this week in Globes, ElAl are cosidering leasing regional jets (better known as jungle jets) for low occupancy regional routes such as Cyprus, Turkey and Greece. The jets will probably leased with full crews as ElAl has only Boeing qualified pilots.

Do you think that they would use outside crews? Don't they have special security rules about who can be a pilot? Aren't they all AirForce vets?

Amman if I am correct is now served by Arkia or have they stopped? I wonder if they will lease Embraer or Canadair aircraft.

Interesting that Arkia just has 1 x weekly vs. RJ's with a lot more. I assume RJ get connecting traffic to Asia while Arkia relies only on local traffic which must be negligeable at present.
