I am new to JetBlue and want to find out what you would consider a cheap fare for JFK-OAK.

Definitely love the direct flights and the times for the flights but dont find $350-400 a bargain.

How low have you see it go? And how often (rare) are such fire sales?

JFK-OAK was at $99 each way not too long ago. Now it seems like the cheap base fare is $139 each way.

No idea of if/when a sale in this market will appear again.

Most of the flights I've been on this summer have been virtually full. Depending on when you are traveling the fares might not be coming down until September.

as of today, JFK to/from OAK is back down to $99. From now till early december. Check the SuperFly fares for more info.

Need to purchase well in advance as the $99 fares seem to be quite popular.

As others have said, the $99 fares do sell-out early. They also have advance purchase requirement. You will also find that the fares are cheaper when you are flexible with the timing (certain times are popular and sell out on low-fares).

Just paid $301.50 for OAK-JFK RT in Nov. Sunday dep., Tuesday ret. (no Sat. stay).

American and United nonstops at roughly the same time out of SFO were over $1,800 (since no Sat. stay).

The FTers who lament JetBlue's arrival, and the damage they cause to other airlines, are a curious bunch.
