would you still choose to fly JetBlue to LGB and OAK? I'm particularly interested in the responses of folks who have bought, or considered buying, JetBlue's higher priced "walkup fares" ($249 to $299 oneway).
I'm a frequent flyer, but my main interest in this question is as an investor. As some of you may know, America West will launch nonstop transcons from JFK to LAX and SFO in the next couple of months. This has already triggered "retaliation" from the larger carriers, who are matching America West's fares (at least on the flights that correspond to America West's departure times). So, for the first time, there will be a lot of nonstop walkup fares available to LAX and SFO at JetBlue fare levels.
Would the convenience (or maybe the frequent flyer miles) cause you to switch back to American, Delta or United, or to try America West -- rather than land in OAK or LGB? Or is JetBlue's experience so much better (or perhaps OAK and LGB are more convenient to you) that you'd still fly with JetBlue?
Thanks for the feedback.
