America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Upgrading with CO Miles

I may try HP from BWI-LAS. Two of us are CO silver/gold elite, but may want to use miles to guarantee an upgrade. Can we use CO miles to upgrade an HP flight? Can we do that booking through HP reservations, or does that have to be done with CO reservations? Thanks.

My wife and I did almost that exact trip on HP (DCA-LAS?) last year and upgraded one ticket with HP miles and one with CO miles. I can't remember the details of who you have to call first, but I do remember it was a bit of a hassle to get CO and HP on the same page.

Please take this advice......fly CO BWI-IAH-LAS and u/g on CO. Nicer planes, nicer service, nicer personnel and you have a far better chance of arriving on time.
