One of the better investments I've ever made was purchasing a lifetime membership in the Phoenix Club, as it was called then. And now I am even more convinced!

Beginning Spring 2001, (I don't know the exact date), America West Club memebership will be valid at 14 TWA Ambassadors Clubs. This is in addition to Continental Presidents Clubs, domestic Northwest WorldClubs, and the EVA Evergreen Lounge in Taipei!

Those 14 additional clubs are located in:
Albuquerque
Boston Logan
Dallas/Ft. Worth
Kansas City
New York (JFK and LaGuardia)
Phoenix
St. Louis
San Diego
San Francisco
San Juan
Washington D.C. (Dulles and National)
Paris Charles de Gaulle

Jack Daniel's, if you please. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yeah, but just how long is that TWA shingle going to stay up at those clubs? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

p.s. I can't find anything on the HP website about this, however on the TWA site:
The DOT also authorized the just-announced plans for reciprocal use of American's Admirals Clubs and TWA's Ambassadors Clubs.

Click on the Frequent Flyer tab toward top of page
Click on the Newsletter tab
Click on the AWA Club link in the left hand column

snake, I sure hope that the TWA shingle stays up at least one day longer than my lifetime. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

If the AA purchase goes through, the TWA reciprocity won't last out the year. You also don't know if CO and NW will continue to maintain its relationship with HP. Depending on what you paid for your membership, you probably would have done better by purchasing a lifetime card on either of the other two carriers (CO or NW). One must wonder the value to the two other airlines when HP's clubs are down to only a city or two.
