Well, Wilbur. This morning's flight back home from Reno to Phx will make 117,972 miles for me this year on HP. Plus figure about 40,000 miles on UA, NW, and Delta combined. Hence, HP is my #1 airline. Granted, this is primarily due to location rather than choice.

How has the year gone? Well, not bad actually. FC is great, and coach is not that great. Out of all my HP flights, I only had four delays in excess of 30 minutes. This is stunning considering HP's track record. Most FA's and gate agents were pleasant and the majority of aircraft in good shape. Lucky, lucky, lucky.

I will say that the Monday (12/11) AM flight from Phx to Reno had some problems. We pushed back and started to head to the wild blue yonder. Alas, the right engine stopped on us three times. Ultimately, we switched aircraft and happily sped away, 1.5 hours tardy.

Fortunately, I was in no hurry on Monday. I guess that one flight out of eighty is not much to ..... about. 'Tis better to be lucky than smart.

I've only taken a handful of flights on HP (I'm a UA flier), 1/2 FC & 1/2 Coach. I'd have to say that HP is just Southwest with assigned seats.

No, no no!

SWA is funny! HP is just sad.

WOW Butcher Bird! You sure had good luck on America West!!!

Last July I was flying HP to Long Beach to join some FlyerTalkers for drinks at sunset, I was in my nice big F/C seat, we pushed back on time only to return to the gate with mechanical problems, flight eventually canceled, got a nice cozy center seat on the next flight, got to Long Beach in time to watch my FlyerTalker friends finish their last drinks and go home.

In October, when I flew from Tucson to LAX to pick up Freddie Jr. from another group of FlyerTalkers it happened again, left TUS at 6:00 am, connecting flight pushed back on time, returned to gate, canceled, coach seat on the next flight, didn't arrive at LAX until 3:00 pm!!!

Don't take my word for it, ask newself, Jailer Quietlion, PremEx, Kokonutz NJDavid and others..

HP has about 60% of it's flights arriving ontime. if you are talking about connecting flights .6 x .6 = .36...... 36% is about my on time arrival at destination success rate!!!

I'd like to coordinate my travel with yours. I've had more cancellations and delays than I can handle with HP.

I know that you folks are relaying accurate stories. Many has been the time that I have walked down the concourse seeing lines HUNDREDS deep at the customer service counter. Talk about some angry folks.

-And my flights have not always been staffed by the most pleasant of FAs. But, as luck would have it I really don't have too much to complain about on delays, etc. Not a single cancelled flight, and only that one instance last Monday of having to change planes.

The only really dumb bunny thing that I saw this past year was about a 40 minute delay to replace a seat cushion (when the seat was not neeeded) that someone had purportedly arfed on (I could see no stains on the cushion and was sitting one row over).

Here's hoping that my luck will continue on into 2001.
