America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - How to get more miles?

My wife and I both have some orphan HP miles, from before we committed to CO OnePass. I have about 5,500, having just scored 500 for the FlightFund online bonus. After my wife gets those 500 too, she will have about 9,100. We'd like to get up to 10,000, so we can each redeem for a one-way upgrade.

It doesn't appear that HP allows you to buy miles to complete an award, so we have to earn them one way or another. A mileage run is not an option, due to the opportunity cost of losing out on CO elite-qualifying miles.

So, from the partner offers I know about, maybe long-distance might be the best for me to get most or all of what I need, but I'm committed to AT&T for OnePass miles for at least three months. I can wait, but if there's some other way to get there, then great.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what would be the easiest and/or cheapest way to get the miles?

Oh, yes, one more thing, applying for a credit card is not an option. I have all that I need, and don't want to hurt my credit rating with a useless app.

The AW phone deals will help, if you don't mind MCI.

Do you have any Starwood or ClickRewards points you could transfer? That's my favorite way to "top off" a FF account when I need a few extra miles for an award.

I'm in the exact same situation. I have 8500 "orphan" HP miles. You can redemm them for Magazine suscriptions - that's it. I'm a CO Plat Elite and I don't wat to waste my miles on that sorry HP program. I swear, HP is just WN with assigned seats.
