Spent 4 days at the Wyndham in Nassau :)
Interesting experience. There were lots and lots of "spring breakers", or should I say pre-spring breakers (high shcool students) at the hotel.
Management tried to confine the students to the road towers and the adults to the towers by the water (C and F). Many of the adults/guests were very unhappy.
I had a great time. Pre-booked a corner suite, and received what I had reserved, 9th floor, tower F. Yes, some of the carpets were alittle worn here and there, but on the whole a wonderful location and facility. Floor to ceiling glass. water, water everywhere......you could even see the water while taking a shower! .....and a jacuzzi.......
Yes, food prices are high, but everyone knows that when they go to the Bahamas..... The staff was very friendly and they aimed to please. Other guests told me they found management unresponsive to their requests, that was no my experience.
All in all had a very good time.

My wife and I stayed here pre-Christmas 2003.
After checking tripadvisor website we were very apprehensive however we were pleasantly surprised. We had a corner suite with balcony that had a spectacular view of the ocean. Found the room, and hotel in general to be clean and well kept. Food is very expensive but tht was expected. Several of the hotel's restaurants were not open while we were there and the property was definitely not full.
We'd heard nightmare stories about noisy guests but we didn't have any issues. The staff is a bit standoffish. We didn't expect to be fawned over so were not dissapointed. The surrounding area is a bit rough but seemed safe enough to walk around during the day.
If you want to go and lounge in the sun and forget about hustle and bustle you'll have a great time.

1. Can you offer any insight as to the cost of the various water activities?
- snorkeling
- catamarans
- other
2. What else is there to do other than water activities?
3. How far from the hotel are local (cheap) eateries?
4. How far are you from town? Is there a town?
5. Would you return to this property?
Thanks

Did not use the watersports......to be honest, I mostly, when I was not in meetings just hung out, baked in the sun, and enjoyed the view from the beautiful room I had and vegged......
If going back to the bahamas, I would go back, but would as I noted in a previous post ask for tower C or F, and definitely go for the corner suite....

We stayed there one night before leaving Nassau early the next morning and thought, that it is really run down.
Our suggestion, if you would like a nice vacation there, stay at the Club Med.

I stayed 3 nights at this dump last weekend. Hotel is decent, showing signs of age. Staff is generally slow and unhelpful (yes, I'm familiar with the concept of "island time"). Beach is OK, pool is fair. Rooms have no internet access but you can happily pay $0.50 per minute in the business center. Had this not been booked through Hotwire, I would have checked out after the first night.

There are several threads, both here (http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=389124) and on biddingfortravel.com about the worthless $30/night Resort Fee that this property tacks on on top of your prepaid PL reservation. I recently posted a detailed review here (http://pub210.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingfrm167.showMessage?topi cID=105.topic).

I was in Nassau last month and stayed Hiton, Atlantis, and Wyndham. It came down to you get what you pay for. Wyndham was worse than both Atlantis and Hilton but Wyndham was the cheapest.

Didn't they just undergo major renovations?
Before reading these posts, I thought it was a "luxury" type place...thinking of going solo for a long weekend in June - should I reconsider?
