Well I am ready to dive into the wonderful and mysterious world of mileage runs. Ok, so maybe that is a little too dramatic. In any event I have priced a trip from Buf to SFO on Feb 17, returning the 18th. Right now I have on hold a flight leaving around 10:00 am and arriving SFO around 3:00 pm and returning into buffalo around 6:00 pm on the 18th. I plan on pricelining a hotel near SFO to keep costs down. My routing is BUF-IAD-BUF. The base miles will be 5852 plus my double miles being 1P plus 5000 bonus miles for the UA program going on this quarter plus 400 miles for buying the trip with MP visa. I calculate 17104 miles at $202 for the ticket for .0119/mile. Is this an effective MR? I could make a stop or 2 but really could not find an itinerary that was worth the extra time. I am open to any suggestions from the experts if there are other options available. My dates are firm, but if there is any other destinations that would be better I am willing to fly wherever. Thanks for your help here, and all the knowledge I have been able to absorb to even attempt my first MR!!
