Hello All!
I am trying to plan a mileage run or two in hopes of retaining Gold Elite status.
I have not traveled as much this year and now need 9417 miles or 13 segments to re-qualify.
Of course I am looking for the cheapest and easiest way of doing this and need expert help. I can go anytime between Dec. 22 and Dec 31. I live near BPT and would like to start at either BPT, IAH, EFD, LCH, LFT, or any other airport reasonably close.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you plan to travel a lot next year? If not, then your silver should be fine. Anything you try will most likely cost you $500 - $600 atleast. It's up to you but fyi... my gf needs 7500 miles to retain her silver and she's not going to bother doing it as it's not worth spending $500 to travel 7500 miles when she only travelled 17,500 the whole year and that too because we were lucky and bought the $215 trip to VCE..... just my 2 cents...

Unfortunately, my travel plans next year do justify trying to keep Gold elite.
I'm fairly upset with the changes they have made to Onepass, but I have been happy with the FC upgrades and would like to retain Gold for next year.

I just realized I'm probably out of luck and headed down to Silver for next year...
I have never traveled internationally and do not have a passport. So, I won't be able to make a long run. I guess my best bet would be two runs with 4 segements each way.
Thanks for your responses so far. Any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you're willing to fly 12/24-12/26, one possibility is to get yourself to somewhere less central, and then do a r/t on 12/25, which is probably one of the cheaper travel days in your period. For example, Orbitz shows LAS-BOS on NW for about $320 on 12/25, and you could pair that with IAH-ATL-LAS on DL on the surrounding days for about the same price.
There are similar, nested itineraries that you could do with a midwestern city, such as CMH or IND, as the jump-off point for a Xmas day transcon.
Still, most of the viable options I've found are in the $600+ range.

But keep in mind DL will only earn 50% EQM on CO... another idea could be going to HNL or ANC (with a connection in IAH)....

If you'd like the Gold status for next year (esp. the 100% mileage bonus)...
It might be worth a
a) Rushed Passport $75-150?
b) I have some SFO-LGW 12,060 mile trips for $310.82.

Yea, print out the BPT-DUB itinerary, get your butt over to the Houston passport office, and score the passport today (I did a same-day passport (my first one) by showing the agent an itinerary for the following week...it was a real trip that I had to make).
I have found that weekend quick-turn MRs using the same plane in & out are the best...did a DEN-AMS last month Sat-Sun for about $480. Got a bunch of chocolate and almost sat at the Blackjack table at Schipol, but thought the better of it.

Thanks to all of you for your input!
I still am leaning towards a domestic run but now see that an international run is still a possibility.
Mitchell, where did yu find SFO-EWR 12,060 mile trips for $310.82? I have found affordable SFO-EWR trips but they only resulted in 5144 miles.

I was going to ask the same question. Maybe by going west out of SFO...
By the way, I have not been able to find any international runs after THIS WEEKEND that are less than about $2000. Maybe during the week, but that would take alot more searching.

Sorry guys. I meant SFO-LGW (London) not SFO-EWR.
How do you boldface text? With UBB code?
SFO-LGW is pricing at 525-535 now in Q-class.
The 310.82 trips were booked in L-class
