Silly me, I used AA miles thinking this would be a tough ticket to get. Not on UA apparently - Leave Sat AM 1/25, Return Mon AM 1/27. $215 RT. Many flights available. Now if you can just get tickets to the game...

Can't you put them back into your AA account? AC allows it. Good luck!

Not worth it for the $100 charge.

Then all at the sudden your ticket is 315$ instead of 215$ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Sorry for you
Why not fly JFK SAN nonstop?

For those dates, the non-stop JFK-SAN prices out at $680. Even a 1-stop via LAX prices over $150 higher than going straight to LAX.

I know the feeling. Used 30,000 AA miles plus $60 in taxes for a ticket to Mexico, only to discover AA offering even more convenient times and dates for about $350 (including taxes) during one of their web specials.
There is still a side of me that is tempted to redeposit the miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
The free ticket you have is good for one year from date of issue and only a $50 change fee (if memory serves correct) to reticket for different dates. Anyone else have other info ..
I'd take the $215 and mileage run.

$100 change fee. Which brings the price to $315. I pay $335 to LAX all the time. No longer a deal.

I still might not feel too bad about a $315 ticket; On New Year's Eve day I went OAK>IAD out and back just to obtain Prem Ex status on a $316 fare. It worked out OK beacuse I was on last day of a double miles targeted promo, and with status bonus, online book bonus, and the fact that already having made 1P for my next trip (1/11) will give additional bonus miles, so $ per mile is mileage run quality! Might be OK for you depending on unknown variables...

Hopfully you're not a GAINTS fan. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Now they are out of the picture, ticket prices from NYC area to SAN should go down.

As far as I remember ..there are 2 NY (not counting Buffalo) teams...and the other is still alive....why would you think ticket prices would go down as long as the Jets are still in? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
They won't----the Jets will be there.

Ah well - $215 fare is now gone. Must be all those excited Jets fans...
Where did the $215 fare come from?? Why did it disappear so quickly? Was it a glitch?

Try JFK - LGB. Usually about $230 - $250 RT anytime without the Sat night stay.
