Mileage Run Deals - Need help with sort of a RUN out of EWR

Hi ... could use some help from you guru's who know how to work the system.

I have a meeting in LAX on 11/18 ... and a meeting in MSP on the 20th.

I am trying to figure out how to make this into a run on CO or NW originating out of EWR ....

everything is well over 1,000

any help or advice?

Are you limited to LAX and EWR as airports? Would you consider Atlantic City, LGA, ONT, SNA, etc as alternates?

Also, are we talking next week? (i.e. cutting it VERY close on 7 day adv purch fares) or is this perhaps a January trip?

How long and what times are your meetings-- namely the meeting in MSP?

You can have up to 24 hours connecting time on an international reservation-- and many international fares don't require advance purchase-- so you could possibly fly one way EWR to LAX, then do an open jaw LAX-(MSP)-Europe and back Sunday Europe to EWR. You'd get a lot of miles, maybe in the neighborhood of $700 grand total (allowing $200 one way EWR-LAX and $500 LAX-Europe-EWR).

Routing from LAX to Europe through Minneapolis can be forced on fares with NW, UA, DL, and Iceland Air.
