MilesBuzz! - Alitalia Frequent Flier Alliances

I am traveling to Italy in a couple of week and I wonder if anyone knows if Alitalia has any sort of alliances with major US carriers where the frequent flier miles can be transferable?

Be sure to give them a US Airways or Continental Airlines frequent flier number.

on nw they also count as status miles, which is not the case for the other airlines.
