On my trip to Vietnam, I’m planning to stop over either in Hongkong or Singapore for a few days. I don’t want to lug my entire checked baggage around town so is there anyway I can store them at either stop-over airports above? Do any airlines offer this kind of storage service or early check-in? I’ll probably be flying Singapore Airlines but am willing to switch if others are more convenient. Thanks!

I've seen coin-operated lockers at Chiangi Airport in Singapore, past immigration.

Hong Kong Airport has a luggage depository office in the arrival hall. It is quite convenient and inexpensive. The aiport express train is the best in Asia (and arguably in the world) for you to get to the city. It is a bargin to start with (about $9 each way with free shuttle buses from train stations to major hotels), and you get returned trip free if returned within 24 hours.

I hope this isn't your only way of deciding which city to stopover in! If it were I (being careful because of the grammar police on another thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif), I would choose Hong Kong as simply a much more interesting city than Singapore. On the other hand, a few days would be enough to take care of Singapore and not need to go back soon, whereas a few days isn't enough for all of Hong Kong.

Decisions, decisions...and such pleasant ones http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif - let us know which city you choose!

Bangkok offers a VERY cheap flight to Saigon or Hanoi on Thai - a superb airline. .. and Bus. Class only $US60 extra!

BKK is IMHO a FAR more interesting place these days for any tourist than either the others.
