Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - MVP Status - Better Reward Options?

I will become MVP on AS after my trip next week. AS will bump me to MVP due to flying 12k miles in under two months this year (not counting any bonus miles).

I'm talking a trip to Cabo later this year (using FF Miles) and want to know if, having MVP status, will allow me more options for "Saver" flights vs. having to bump to 60k miles each ticket for the "Peak" seats.

Thanks... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

It hasn't opened anything up for me. Mexico is pretty difficult for award travel, and you end up paying quite a bit in taxes anyway. I'd probably use an AS50, even if it did only save $250.

The same little bucket of award seats is for all. In the event that you are waitlisted for anything (I don't know if AS permits this on its own metal for awards), you should be higher up the pecking order.

12K Miles, bump to MVP?

Are they all on Alaska? Just curious, because I flew about 13K (mixed AS and NW) in the first 3 months of this year...wondering if I might be able to get that MVP bump (I'll make it by June anyway, but it'd be nice to take advantage of the perks a little earlier).
