"For Lopeti Penima’ani, a trip to the airport in November played out like a script from a bad prime-time cop show.

“Stop lying to me!”

“Your story doesn’t hold water.”

“Don’t you realize that 3,000 Americans were killed by people like you who merely had a box cutter?”

Penima’ani found himself in a tiny room at Salt Lake City International Airport on Nov. 5, answering questions from an FBI agent who had reasons to suspect Penima’ani—a middle-age, white Rastafarian in a wheelchair—was trying to put something over.

Security guards caught Penima’ani with a pocketknife in his lap bag two separate times in less than an hour."

Thank God they stopped this guy! This incident certainly makes me proud to be an American and glad that we're spending all this money on airport security. Long live the TSA!!!

I think my shoe is smarter then Mr. Morris . Why does TSA have to employ idiots?

Bow before the great and abominable TSA.

Bow your heads in silence and reverence.

Or be put to death. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

When will people stop saying:
" killed by box cutters" or
" breach in security at Boston" or
" better safe than sorry"
etc. etc.

Those people were killed because it was our POLICY to let hijackers take over the plane. It is that simple. They could have done it with ballpoint pens. Or broken whatever from plane parts. It was not because of the then current security system.

When will we ever learn?

The Penima'ani guy is very real. It's sad when someone does things for society and then is repaid in such an ugly way.

He then headed back toward security where armed guards found the knife a second time.

It's simple, full fledged strip searches before each passenger can board.

Oh, and maybe check the cabin cleaners, mechanics, the caterers, the fuel tank whatevers http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, etc.
