It sure is different!

Those Business Class seats looks like something out of an Ikea store.

Talk about difference... Is this the face of new interiors from here on out?

The interior does look more spacious, but those chairs would look like a pain to sit in.

They're probably uber-comfortable, what with the advances in ergonomics in the past decade (since the 777 entered service).

They just look so...insubstantial...compared to the behemoths one finds in most Boeing and Airbus Business Cabins today. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Looks like 2+4+2 in the main cabin, same as the A330, but the extra inch (19" vs. 18") should balance passenger comfort with airline revenue.

Whatever Boeing shows at this point, the interiors we end up getting will be whatever the airlines that buy these planes want them to be.

Agreed it is all show and PUFF. What the interior looks like in real life is determined by economics. Which means you can bet you will find a much more crammed cabin then shown. What kills me is that news media falls for this stuff.

Sure would be interesting to archive this photo, then match it to what the airlines ACTUALLY put into the plane.

And, I agree, ergonomics or not, it sure is <hard> for me to see these things as comfortable.

Talk about fluff... oops, they need some fluff in those seats.

Phoney...

Airbus showed super alternative interiors for their A380 as well, but I bet that when the airlines get their hands on it they will cram as many seats in it as they can and won't be investing in ultra hip seats like Boeing wants us to think...

Why is it that the manufacturers make people think that airtravel is some super comfortable means of getting from A to B when reality is that is SUCKS.

Nice seating if you are eating at a Japanese restaurant.

Personal air vents?

None of the pics (including the close-up of the window and reading lights) show personal air vents. Artist fluke (like the lack of handle on the emergency exit doors--that's not going to happen), or cost-cutting measure?

I'm not longing for the days of ventless, stuffy DC-10s, or their 21st century successors.

I hope Boeing place some type of partition between F, C and Y. I do not want to fly in a one cabin airplane.

It kinda reminds me of airline interiors as shot for tv shows. I don't know of any shows that use realistic pitch, seat and aisle width - probably because they wouldn't actually be able to maneuver the camera and sound equipment or get the angles they need.

No kidding. They always show coach as 2x2 seating. Pffft! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Otherwise, I think the interior and seats of the 7E7 are pretty nifty. And I'll bet the seats are pretty **** comfy when all is said and done. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

If you look at old old ads, DC-10s had air vents in the seatback in front of you.

Unless the TSA changes its policies, I wouldn't expect to see any partitions or curtains ever again. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Well I don't get it. In the Wall Street Journal article today (11/18), the Boeing rep says they will have 3-2-3 seating in Y, and how it's better than 2-4-2. But then in the photos of the mock-up released by Boeing, it's clearly 2-4-2.

Can't they get their alibi straight?

Final seating will be up to the airline. Some might do 3+2+3 while others will do the more traditional 2+4+2.

As a matter of fact the Seattle IKEA is in a building leased from Boeing!

But it's interesting how they're no window shades...

That's correct. The windows will be photochromatic, and is controlled by either a switch by the window or by the flight attendants.

If the windows are so amazing you can see to the horizon, why is the girl with the laptop playing solitare?

The new entryway looks like the entrance to shuttle craft 42 on Star Trek.

If anybody thinks this is what the final version would look like, I'll take your order for concept cars at the next auto show.

The images are on the non-media site as well: http://www.boeing.com/commercial/7e7/photos.html

My thoughts having worked for a mfr before

- The lighting system shown is what's starting to roll out on certain carriers anyway

- The controllable glass on the windows might be a no go due to reliability... A shutter is easy to fix. Most carriers don't want a new burden that can be avoided. So I would expect airlines to be able to order either

- No vents!... A flashback to the 767, we don't need. I'm hoping this is just Boeing art folks rubbing these out. The 767 had none of the venting runs in the overheards standard, hence no overhead vents.

- Take all the material, seats, pitch , etc, etc with a grain of salt... The interior fit out is the first thing the airlines penny pinch on.

One more... The short range version would NEED to be able to take off and land with standard loads out of 5600 foot runways (like SNA). If Boeing truly wants to match this as a replacement for 757's starting in the next decade then it needs to match the field performance as well.

I thought the interior was going to look like this:

C'mon McDonnell Boeing! Make up your minds!

Among the images it says:

"Largest Windows Ever Introduced in the Boeing 7E7 Dreamliner".

Excuse me. The windows in the Vickers Viscount turboprop, introduced in 1950, were bigger than that!!
