A British Airways Concorde landed in Boston Wednesday evening after setting a new trans-Atlantic record. The London-to-U.S. time was three hours, five minutes and 34 seconds.

I thought the record was around 2 hours 52 minutes. At least that was what the large BA billboard outside the Midtown Tunnel in NY used to say.

Perhaps the billboard referred to the record going *to* London, not from there?

The billboard was the record from LHR-JFK.. The record set was LHR-BOS.. and by the way.. concorde was the only aircraft that flew above the jetstream, therefore the flight time in both directions was the same...

The 2 hours, 52 minute figure is the record for getting through the Midtown Tunnel in rush hour. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
