...When they are a contractor (see any USA airport pre-September 11th at about 0845 EST) who is actually allowed by the TSA to wear the TSA Uniform and TSA Badge!

At San Francisco International, Tupelo, Kansas City, Jackson Hole and Rochester (NY) Airports the TSA allows the impersination of sworn U.S. Government Agents to occur.

This is absolutely INSANE!!! Remember this when booking your travels.

My favorite line from the first article:
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">"We knew they wanted to take a step back and take a broad look at all the possibilities," he said. "They [Covenant] have a good track record with the Department of Energy," McCarron added. Aside from its screeners at O'Hare and JFK, Covenant employs security officers for airline cargo companies throughout the country. </font>

Oh, you meant the same DOE which allowed this?:

My apologies to you Unknown Screener.

I would've not had the experience that led me to this discovery if I had not had that third bag yesterday (caused by me buying some things at the aviation shop in the international terminal at SFO next to the museum/library)

Maybe what was insane was federalizing these screeners in the first place. Instead of getting upset that a few are not government workers, maybe we should be more upset that any of them are.

There is NO difference between these morons and the morons at BOS, LAS and ATL.

The problem is LOY and the idiots directly under him.

I agree that there are HUGE problems at the top. They change policies weekly and sometimes daily. I have seen procedures change mid-shift. It is not the individual screeners who cause all of the problems, it is truly the leadership who cannot seem to get their act together. Plus we do have some supervisors that are on such a power trip that I wonder about their sanity. People being people, you find that sort of thing in all walks of life unfortunately. For the record, I have three more days as a screener, then I move on to bigger and better things. Then I might reveal some info that some might find interesting.

Government screeners arent the problem, its the people at the top making policies that the screeners have to enforce. If we had completely revamped security after 9/11, then people wouldnt be so upset.

I'd be just as upset as I am now if these un-American "security" procedures were put in place without a 9/11 happening.

Hey, wait a minute, Camera Guy.

Weren't you blaming Daschle for forcing the federalization of the TSA, and making them federal employees?

Wasn't this all the democrats fault? I thought it was the BRAVE REPUBLICANS who tried to make the TSA private, but were shouted down by the dasterdly Democrats?

Now, you are complaining about a private security force? Isn't that what the REPUBLICANS wanted in the first place? A private army able to perform search and seizuries without warrents or probable cause?

Like a true Democrat, you have taken my words out of context.

IN Context, I was refuting a claim that the TSA Screeners were BETTER than the Private Screeners.

Cut your losses.
