The mentality in France *has* change between now and then; people may not like the reforms, but they will ackowledge that they are very necessary. The strikes went strong the first day or two, but slowly fizzled. There were very few problems in greater Paris yesterday. Remember tbat the French take a month off, either July or August, so they wouldn't want to interfere with that.
