Newsstand - USDA set to begin killing MIA rabbits this morning

The jack rabbits' time may be up.

Unless airport officials grant a last-minute reprieve for the hares of Miami International Airport, the animal-rights activists who have been scrambling to save them must be off airport property by 9 a.m. today.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Service will then move in to start shooting the jack rabbits.

I am surprised the MIA ones are not multiplying faster. I once worked in a large factory, whose grounds were home to a few rabbits at the beginning of my project. 6 months later, there were hundreds of them. Factory management had them poisoned http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

They are government rabbits; they don't work hard at anything...although several have applied for TSA jobs.
