Sounds like a neat idea, but ordering directly from the restaurant while in the airport isn't really a big deal or that time consuming.

Furfine, a Rockville software developer, in December launched Carry-On Cuisine, an Internet-based company that lets travelers order an entree from an airport restaurant at the same time they book their flight.

So far, the service -- available through www.carryoncuisine.com (http://www.carryoncuisine.com) -- is in its very early days. Furfine says the Web site gets 300 to 400 hits a day, and he sells only about one meal a day. Carry-On operates only at Reagan National and Dulles International airports. It will begin offering meals at Baltimore-Washington International Airport later this month. And next week it will expand to Philadelphia International Airport. In June, Carry-On goes international when it begins offering meals at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.

It is extremely limited right now.

At Dulles (Center/Main Pier) - you have the choice 4 entrees at TGIFridays.

At DCA (near Pier C)- you have the choice of 8 pizzas, 2 sandwiches, and 4 salads from Calif. Pizza Kitchen.

In addition, they charge a $0.99 service charge. Personally, I wouldn't use this service - I would just go right to the restaurants themselves and order something to go.

I'm packing a lunch now-a-days since the airlines do not want to feed me, even though it has been charged to me inside the full price of the ticket. Crooks.

A 99 cent surcharge is bogus too. For what, airport security?
