I guess it's a vote of no-confidence for the TSA:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Air defenses around the nation's capital have been strengthened amid a heightened terrorism alert and a warning from CIA director George Tenet that al-Qaida attacks could occur as early as this week, defense officials said Wednesday.

Or this thread that does not require registration (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030212/ap_wo_en_ge/na_gen_us_terrorism_3).

Praise the Lord and pass the duct tape. As I am composing this, the flying federales are buzzing over my house.

Well, when the bogus alert goes back to yellow, can we duct tape CNN morning, overpaid, anchor Paula Zahn's mouth shut? Maybe then the "AM" icon on the lower right of the TV screen will stop moving. She'll look good like that. :-)

No, just a fact of reality. The TSA actions at the airport are only a show, and really have no impact of terrorist activities. Just think if we took the $billions$ thrown away at airports along with billions of dollars of other economic damage and used it elsewhere, how much we could get done!

Well, here is one for the inspectors. They just found a man with a live hand grenade at Gatwick Airport. I guess this gives some credence to the increase in the terrorist alert

I just don't get it. What are they expecting, a fleet of MIG-29s to come flying from Afghanistan? Why so much air defense?
