US Airways gets their loan (http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/030211/airlines_usairways_loan_4.html).

I must say, Siegel has done a great job. Who would have thought it? If only Tilton would take a page from Siegel's book. Alas, Tilton tilts at windmills such as low cost carriers instead of tacking the #1 issue which is costs of labor, costs of labor and costs of labor.

According to Harper's Index (Jan 2003 or Dec 2002):

Ratio of net profit earned by U.S. airlines since 1970 to federal subsidies given to the industry since September 2001 -

1:1

Let's keep those cash handouts flowing. Isn't socialism great?

I am glad that the U.S. government has bailed out an airline that is converting their fleet to non-U.S. made aircraft!
